bio- (a bit about me):
Painting life is what inspires me. All of it’s beauty, movement, colour, texture, fragility, despair, happiness, depth and wonder. I love that I can create an impressionistic abstract and have you all see something different. I love looking at a beautiful sky, or landscape or a special moment and feeling the impression it has left on my soul. I take that feeling and try to capture it in a textured painting.
I've had a pencil, or coloured pencils in my hands my whole life. I loved spending time with my Dad in his little basement studio, intently watching him create in oils.
I never really pursued my passion for art until the early 2000's, as I was busy working in the corporate world and raising a family. I spent more than half of my career working in creative environments, but never creating. Now, after several years of re-igniting my passion, taking courses and learning more at the Dundas Valley School of Art and the Art Gallery of Burlington, I’m thrilled to continue experimenting and learning in my home studio in beautiful Gibsons, B.C. Canada.
Before relocating to the Sunshine Coast, B.C., my home was in Ontario. I've been fortunate to have my work shown and sold through the Art Gallery of Burlington as well as at art shows in Hamilton, Ontario. For several years I donated pieces to fund raising events in Hamilton, Ontario and I’m happy to say they all found loving homes.
Relocating to Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. has been a dream come true! I've been welcomed into this inclusive, creative community. I'm proud to have had the opportunity to showcase my work at the annual Sunshine Coast Art Crawl, held here each October. I've also been a featured artist at several local gallery shows over the past few years. Three of my original paintings have been used to adorn chocolate bar covers though "Art Meets Chocolate". Donating to local fundraisers continues to be important to me.
I'm very proud that my work can be found in homes all across Canada, in the U.S. and the U.K.
